Dr. Peter Nielsen, D.D.S., Ph.D.
Dr. Nielsen was born in Denmark, and graduated from University of Copenhagen in 1993. After graduating he worked in clinical dentistry and taught dental students at University of Copenhagen. Simultaneously he conducted research in oral biology. The aim of these studies was to analyze the molecular structures and expression of glycoproteins in saliva and oral mucosa, and how these proteins change in oral cancer. These studies resulted in several articles published in scientific journals (for a list of publications click here), and were honored with a Ph.D. in dentistry from University of Copenhagen in 1997. Following that, Dr. Nielsen continued doing research at The Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California, USA, for 3 years, and has since worked  in private practice in Denmark. Although not actively involved in research anymore, Dr. Nielsen still has a keen interest in following the latest scientific developments, in order to be able to treat his patients according to the most advanced principles.

Dr. Svend Holm, D.D.S.
Specialist in periodontal treatment.
Dr. Holm was born in Denmark, and graduated from the Dental College in Aarhus, Denmark. After graduating he has held positions teaching dental students at the Dental College in Aarhus, and at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Furthermore, Dr. Holm has extensive clinical experience from private practice, as well as public paedodontic practice, in Denmark and abroad. He is a specialist in the treatment of periodontal disease.

Margarida Amado, Clinic Administrator
Margarida graduated in Biochemistry from Coimbra University in 1994, and has a Ph.D. in Health Sciences from University of Porto. During her Ph.D. she worked in molecular biology research at the University of Copenhagen and IPATIMUP in Porto, and then for 3 years at The Scripps Research Institute, USA.
